Kate cecilia McGowan is a NCAD Visual Culture graduate, who’s current research concerns queer epistemology. Lorna Quinn is a graphic designer and holds an MA in Design History and Material Culture from NCAD. Lorna’s current research concerns early twentieth century Irish typography. For her work in graphic design, Lorna has received membership with commendation of the International Society of Typographic Designers, was commended at the Irish Design Institute Graduate awards, and was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Arts student design awards.

Together, they are presenting “DELICATE: Irish Lesbian Epistemology.” This book provides evidence of Irish lesbian relationships from the late 18th century to the 20th century, while re-appropriating Irish revival typography, namely O’Lochlainn’s Column Cille, in order to assert the lineage of a distinctly Irish queer, female epistemology. They hope that their work might encourage awareness of Ireland’s queer lineage.
